Visiting the orthodontist every four to six weeks is an important part of your Orthodontic treatment. We make it easy for our patients to schedule appointments. Our practice will work with you to make sure your appointments are as convenient as possible. We offer Saturday morning appointments to accommodate you. When scheduling appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for you. We know your time is valuable so we make sure our office always runs on time.
There is no cost to see Dr. Rashbaum for your initial consultation. This visit will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your initial consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Provide a complete oral exam, with x-rays if needed at no charge
- Help create a customized treatment plan
- Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans (all inclusive fees with no interest and low down payments!!)
Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all the information you need to determin which treatment is right for you. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.
First Day in Braces
We use state-of-the-art, high tech adhesive on wires and braces. When you leave our office after your initial appointment, the brackets and adhesives are at their final strength, however, we ask that you be careful about the foods you eat that could cause your braces to loosen or brake. Until you become accustomed to eating with your new braces, you may find it beneficial to follow a diet consisting of soft foods. Broken or loose braces slow the treatment progress!
When your braces are removed, we make you custom fabricated retainers to hold your new smile. Retainers are critical for us as our teeth move throughout our lives. Your final results rely on your compliance to wear your retainers as the final settling of your bite is completed. The retention phase of treatment, when kept up with, lasts for 12 months. Routine checks and adjustments are extremely necessary during this period to keep your new smile.
Oral hygiene is one of the most importantsteps to make sure you get the most out of your setup. If not kept clean, you can permanently damage your teeth. for example, you can create cavities from leftover sugars and unwanted bacteria. Your teeth can permanently suffer from decalcification, which is cause from sugar, plaque and not properly cleaning your teeth under your braces. Your braces can retain food better than your teeth, causing bad breathe.
